Welcome to the New Home of Greg James Professional Voiceovers!

Delightful to see you!  Kick your shoes off, relax, stay awhile.

In celebration of the New Year 2022 I decided to unveil this brand-new website.

Yeah, I know what you’re thinking: “Greg, you do know it’s March, right?  Check your calendar, smart guy.”

It’s true that I’m behind schedule.  Unluckily for me, after successfully outrunning the coronavirus for almost two years that damned Omicron variant caught up with me and knocked me flat.

Happily, I’m better now – and I sincerely hope this message finds you, your family and friends healthy and safe.

What you’re viewing here marks an evolution from my original, clunky one-pager website, which frankly was sitting around the internet collecting dust and badly in need of an update.  This expansion of GJVO 2.0, as I like to call it, coincides with the evolution of my voiceover business; for the past year I’ve been busy rethinking, rebranding and now relaunching.

Here you’ll see (and hear!) a fresh new batch of demos that reflect my current general areas of pursuit:  broadcast commercial work, eLearning and some dabbling in characters.

As you’ve noticed, this website also has a new blog. As business continues to evolve and I interact with my growing network of clients, followers and friends, I felt the desire to be able to communicate from a platform of my very own that I can control.  Sure, I’ll still do the social media dance, and I’ll push out updates and content there too, but I rather like the idea of having my own little corner of the old world wide web where I can hang out and do my thing, my way.

Here I’ll occasionally post updates on my work, as well as what I hope will be interesting, timely and useful commentaries on the voiceover profession and any related topics connected to this very unique craft.

I have a few folks I’d like to thank:  first, my VO coach, Joyce Castellanos.  Joyce is highly regarded in this business, having many years of experience as a director and producer at major outlets like NBC, Disney and the WB Television Network.  I sought her out because I needed to sift through all the noise, clutter and dubious characters posing as “experts” and “coaches” doling out sketchy advice, and instead sit under the learning tree of someone with a track record of doing this business right.

Among other sage guidance, Joyce is all about “getting out of your head and into your heart.”  She taught this over-thinking, uptight refugee from the buttoned-down corporate and business world to give myself permission to let go and simply be in the moment.  And for that I am deeply grateful.

Big respect to Matt Smith and his Adrenaline Studios in Las Vegas, who produced my commercial and eLearning demos.  We did all of this remotely!  Next time I find myself on the strip for a little gambling and debauchery, I’ll carve out some time for a personal visit to Matt and his gorgeous state-of-the-art facility.

And finally, huge props to Mary Kirkpatrick and her entire team at To the Moon Media for their usual excellent work in redesigning this website and laying the foundation for the enhanced functionality that will allow me to flex over time.  This is my second round doing business with Mary, and I’m pleased I came back.  If you’re in the market for a reputable and very professional partner in all things web design and online marketing, look no further.

Thanks for visiting.  Talk to you soon!
